DETOX BEET GREEN JUICE RECIPE
My best friend Heather LOVES beets (you may see her sometimes on my insta stories, her laugh is infectious!)
Every time we go to a restaurant if beets are on the menu, she orders it!
Even if beets aren’t your thaaang and this combo sounds like an anomaly for a green juice, it’s actually quite amazing (and soooooo good for you too!).
Your plain old beet juice just might have to “beet it” once you’ve gotten a taste of what a great duo beets and oranges are. 😉
With coconut water as the base and spinach leaves added in to bump up the nutritional value, the result is a delicious low calorie (high fiber!) detox juice recipe that’s tangy but sweet and very high in Vitamin C.
THE RAW DEAL
I recommend using peeled, gently steamed beets in this Detox Beet Green juice recipe if you don’t love the earthy flavor of beets.
Peeled, raw beets will work just fine too, but peeled and gently steamed beets is best if you are not a total beet lover.
No time to peel and steam your beets? You can find pre-packaged beets in your local grocery store.
While some beet juice recipes can be high in sugar and calorie-laden, this detox beet green juice is neither. It will help you stay on track if you’re trying to drop a few pounds.
Important tip: Don’t expect to get full off this detox beet green juice recipe. It’s super healthy and great for your waist line but it’s more of a nutrient-dense “snack” rather than a meal.
If you’re a beet junkie, you’ll also love the “I am Berry Clean” recipe in my 1 Day free juice detox.
You can make this whole food juice recipe in a high powered blender, but if you have a regular blender don’t fret, just add more liquid and expect more of a smoothie texture.

HEALTH BENEFITS OF BEETS
Although beets have the highest sugar content of all vegetables, they’re a nutrient powerhouse that can improve your health in the following ways:
1. Supports Live Function
Feeling like your body needs a detox? Beetroot contains betaine. It’s a substance that helps prevent or reduce fatty deposits in the liver. Betaine may also help protect your liver from toxins.
2. Lower Blood Pressure
Is your blood pressure too high? Drink some beet juice.
When you consume beets or beet juice, those nitrates that naturally occur in the vegetable are converted into nitric oxide in the body. This is helpful because research has shown that nitric oxide helps to relax and dilate blood vessels, improving blood flow and lower blood pressure.
3. Boost Stamina
If you’re feeling a little sluggish and not sure you’ll make it through your next workout, juice some beets!
Research has found that beets elevate blood nitrate levels and reduce the oxygen cost from low-intensity exercise as well as enhance tolerance to high-intensity exercise.
4. Fight Inflammation
Beets are a unique source of betaine. It’s nutrient that helps protects cells, proteins, and enzymes from the stressors in our environment.
Betaine is also known to fight inflammation, protect internal organs, improve vascular risk factors, enhance performance, and prevent numerous chronic diseases.
I have tried many juice combos with beets and none have really wowed me until now. It was perfectly balanced and refreshing. Full disclosure, I had to substitute kale for spinach because that is what I had and it came out great!
You have to use what you got! 🙂 Thanks for sharing your feedback Liz, I love this one too. 🙂 ~ Tarashaun
Cannot wait to try this!, been looking for a detox. How long do you stay on this detox for or is it just a once a week consumption? Thanks for the post.
Hi, Mary, the detox you would request in this post is for a 1-day detox. However, throughout your health journey, you are more than welcome to incorporate it into your monthly routine. If you’re looking for something more significant, try this 7-day cleanse. Let me know if you have questions. Good luck on your health journey!
