Vitamix Pro 750 Review - Is it still the Best?
After numerous requests, Iโve (finally) decided to do a Vitamix Pro 750 review dedicated to the Professional 750 - and nothing else.
Iโve compared the 750 to other blenders before - both Vitamix and non-Vitamix. But the Pro 750 is such an awesome kitchen tool that it really does deserve a review all its own.
In this Vitamix Pro 750 review, weโll take a look at its specs and design; cover its features and user-friendliness; and what you can expect from the 750 performance-wise.
Also, containers are forever a hot topic when it comes to blenders AND finding your way around the myriad of Vitamix containers can be tricky.
Iโll give you my views on the one that comes with the Vitamix Pro 750 along with a heads-up on which other containers are and arenโt compatible with this blender.
(Hey! Want to know everything there is to know about Vitamix containers? Weโve got THE ultimate guide for you! Check it out.)
Plus, weโll highlight the pros and cons of owning the Pro 750 and answer some of the most common FAQs related to this Vitamix Next Generation (Legacy) machine.

Vitamix Pro 750 - COST
The retail price of a new Vitamix Pro 750 is $699.95.
Yep, $699.95 is a good chunk of change (even for a Vitamix). But, if you are willing to invest in a top-quality, high-performance blender, itโs well worth it.
The 750 is a professional-grade, well-built machine that is made to handle frequent, rigorous blends without wear and tear.
Plus, the Pro 750 comes with Vitamixโs free 7-year warranty which you can extend for a further three years at the additional cost of $75.00.
Reconditioned Options
I always recommend Vitamixโs refurbished options because they are a really good buy.
You can get a Certified Reconditioned Vitamix Professional Series 750 for $569.95. Check it our here. They work just like a brand-new 750 (talking from experience here - I used a refurbished Vitamix 750 for years before I upgraded to the Ascent A3500!).
The reconditioned Pro 750 is a real deal you shouldnโt let pass you by.
Good to know: Both the brand-new and refurbished Vitamix 750 can be paid for with 4 interest-free payments (with Affirm).
Considering the cost of the 750, paying in installments is an option that works better for many of us.
Oh, and the reconditioned machines come with a generous free 5-year warranty. Vitamix also offers the same extended 3-year warranty for $75.00 on the refurbished machines as it does with the new ones.
Durability
The Vitamix Pro 750 is a heavy-duty, made-in-the-USA machine. The base is metal alloy as are the gears in the base and in the jar.
You can expect your versatile Vitamix 750 blending machine to last many years longer than a cheaper, poorly made one would.

Vitamix Pro 750 - MAIN FEATURES
The Vitamix Pro 750 is one of the companyโs Legacy Next Generation (G-Series) models.
That makes it a much more up-to-date blender than the older Vitamix C-Series blenders but without the smart features of the newer models in the Vitamix Ascent Series.
The main features of the Pro 750 are:
Full-size blender
10 variable speeds
5 pre-programmed automatic settings
Pulse feature
Manual speed adjustment
64-ounce, low-profile container
2.2 peak horsepower motor
Physical controls (no digital display and no smart features / internet connectivity)
I cover each of these in greater detail further down in this review but they all add up to making the Pro 750 a heavy-duty, multipurpose, user-friendly blender with just a couple of drawbacks.
Here are the pros and cons of the 750 in a nutshell.
Vitamix Pro 750 - PROS
Powerful motor
5 pre-programmed settings
Easy to clean (self-cleaning)
Quick, efficient, and time-saving
Versatile - handles blending, mixing, churning, kneading, grinding, and crushing
Makes smooth blends, even from fibrous ingredients
Excellent for crushing ice
Grinds with ease
Can handle hot blends
Creates hot soup
Fits under most kitchen cabinets
Has a master On/Off switch
Well-built

Vitamix Pro 750 PERFORMANCE
The Vitamix Pro 750 gets high marks for achieving the desired texture and consistency of blends.
Iโve used it to create a plethora of recipes, including myriad smoothies, juices of all kinds, a range of ice creams, and a variety of nut butters.
The 750โs versatility extends to dry blending, as well. It yields perfectly textured rice flour and smooth powder from spices like coriander seeds and cumin.
It withstands repeated heavy use and is ideal for tough-to-blend ingredients. Expect it to last for quite a number of years even if you use it several times a day each day.
Depending on the items you make regularly, the 750 could be the only blender you need.
Later in this review, I mention other containers (like the 32-ounce dry grains container from Vitamix) that you may wish to consider as additional containers.
Vitamix Pro 750 Design
COLORS: The Vitamix Pro 750 is available in BLACK and PEARL GRAY with a black faceplate on both options. The black of the faceplate provides a nice contrast for the feature options, making them clearly visible.
DIMENSIONS: The Vitamix Pro 750 is 17.4 inches tall, 8.0 inches wide (side to side), and has a depth (front to back of the base) of 8.5 inches.
WEIGHT: The Pro 750 weighs 12.5 pounds. Yeah, itโs heavy - but the weight helps to stabilize the machine. Its weight and four sturdy feet under the base ensure the blender doesnโt rattle and wobble across your countertop when youโre blending at high speeds or tougher ingredients.
CONTAINER: The Pro 750 comes with a 64-ounce jar made of BPA-free plastic. The jar is 17.5 inches high and described as โlow profile.โ
BLADES: This blenderโs blade assembly has four laser-cut, stainless steel blades. The blade assembly measures 4 inches across.
LID: The Vitamix Pro 750 comes with a two-part lid - the main lid and a plug.
TAMPER: The Pro 750 comes with a low-profile tamper that is ideal for the low-profile jar. Using a longer tamper (that you probably had with an older Vitamix) is not recommended.
CORD: The Vitamix Pro 750 comes with a 6-foot power cord. Itโs also designed with a compartment beneath the base where you can safely and conveniently wrap away any extra length of the cord, depending on how far it's being used from the electrical socket.
NOISE: If you have used any of the older Vitamix models youโll know they can be quite loud. Thankfully, the Vitamix Pro 750โs noise output is quieter, but thatโs just relatively speaking, of course. This blender has a 2.2 horsepower motor - so you know itโs not exactly quiet, either.
What we did notice is that, compared to the older models of Vitamix blenders, 750โs reduced noise is much more appreciable when you're blending at lower speeds.
Noise reduction in the 750 may be attributable to its heavier weight and the four steadying feet on the base.
COOLING: The 750 unit is kept cool by a radial cooling fan and what Vitamix describes as โa thermal protection system.โ
Vitamix Pro 750 Review - Power
The Pro 750 has a 2.2-peak horsepower motor. That makes it more powerful than the motors used in earlier Vitamix models. The top speed for its blades is a mind-boggling 240 mph.
The 750 is rated as commercial-grade which means it's built to make light work of really tough ingredients.
Vitamix Pro 750 Review - Controls and User Friendliness
The Vitamix 750 has a central dial on its faceplate with a switch on either side of the dial.
The dial is nice and chunky - easy to grip and easy to make selections with. It is used for both variable speed selection and choosing pre-programmed settings.
The switch on the left is the pulse switch; the one on the right is the Start/Stop switch. The 750 also has a master On/Off switch on the side of the base.
Variable speeds
There are ten distinct variable speeds for the 750. These are marked 1 - 10 on the right hand side of the dial. You can point the dial to each one to select it.
But, since the dial rotates smoothly between the numbers, you can also make small adjustments between the marked speeds. I find that to be super convenient for fine tuning blends.
Pre-programmed settings
The Vitamix Pro 750 has five pre-programmed functions listed as Smoothie, Frozen Dessert, Soup, Puree, and CLEAN.
These run the blender for preset times and it will automatically self-adjust by speeding up, slowing down, and stopping according to the program.
Just select the function you need, press the Start/Stop switch, go multitask, and come back when it's done.
The Smoothie, Frozen Dessert, and Puree programs hit the mark every single time. You will not be disappointed by the results they give.
If you are a novice at using a blender, it takes all the guesswork out of creating these concoctions for you.
You can blend away without fear, knowing your smoothie WILL be silky and your frozen dessert WILL be even textured, for instance.
I have to highlight the Soup and CLEAN modes, though. They really help set the 750 apart from regular blenders.
In Soup mode, you start with your ingredients and cold water (or broth). The machine blends up everything perfectly while using the heat from its motor to create steaming hot soup.
Clean mode might just be everybodyโs favorite - I know Iโm not the only one who raves about it. Itโs as self-cleaning as a blender can get and it does a mighty fine job of it.
All you need to do is add warm water and a bit of dish soap. The 750 does the rest. Yay!
Pulse switch
This runs the 750 at turbo speed for quick bursts, stopping as soon as you release the switch.
Start/Stop switch
Once the control dial is set to a particular speed or preset function, pressing the Start/Stop switch will activate the blenderโs motor at the correct speed. Press it again when you want to stop the machine.
On/Off switch
This is the blenderโs master power switch and another of the thoughtful safety features this blender is designed with. You can flip the On/Off switch off at night or whenever youโre done blending. No need to unplug the unit - just flip the switch.
Vitamix Pro 750 Container
INCLUDED CONTAINER: The Vitamix Pro 750 comes with the Next Generation 64-ounce, low-profile jar. It measures 17.5 inches high, making it much more likely to fit under most kitchen cabinets than the taller jars that come with older Vitamix models.
Itโs made of durable BPA-free plastic thatโs tough enough to withstand the use on the blenderโs hot soup setting.
The Vitamix 750โs jar comes with a two-part lid plus plug assembly. Plus, like all other Vitamix containers, it is designed with leak protection to prevent leaks from getting to the motor base - the number one reason cheaper, lower-quality blenders fail.
Vitamix Pro 750 - Compatible Containers
Like all Next Generation ( G-Series) blenders, the 750 is compatible with the 48-ounce jar, 32-ounce jar, and specialized 32-ounce dry grains jar.
My recommendations if youโre thinking of an additional jar for your Pro 750:
48-ounce jar or 32-ounce jar
32-ounce dry goods container (if you do plenty of dry blending)
20-ounce cups with personal adapter
While the 750 is a generally awesome blender, its wide (4-inch) base makes it not so ideal for small blends. I highly recommend the 48-ounce jar or 32-ounce jar to go along with the 64-ounce jar that comes with the Pro 750.
Particularly, if you will be doing small blends often (which I think many of us do), having a more convenient jar for those is a good idea.
That way, if you need to make salad dressings or single servings of things like ice cream or nut butters, you wonโt feel like you have to make more than necessary just so the blender will work efficiently and give you perfect results.
The 48-ounce jar is designed for medium to small batches and the 32-ounce for small batches. They are 10.25 inches (48-ounce) and 9.8 inches (32-ounce) high.
So, just like the low-profile 64-ounce jar, they will fit under most cabinets.
And, of course, if you do a lot of dry goods blending, then the 32-ounce dry grains container makes a great additional jar, too.
Vitamix designed its dry grains container with a specialized blade for creating homemade flour and similar powdered items.
And, apart from grinding grains, its blades can also handle mixing batter and kneading dough.
Vitamix sells a set of two 20-ounce jars with lids and an adapter. The adapter makes it possible for the cups to be used with a wide range of Vitamix containers, including the Pro 750.
Vitamix Pro 750 - Incompatible Jars
All Self-Detect containers that work with the Smart System Vitamix blenders are not compatible with the Vitamix 750.
The Standard 64-ounce jar that comes with the Legacy Vitamix 5200 is a taller and narrower jar than the 750โs low-profile jar. It is NOT recommended for use with the 750.
The jars made for the Vitamix personal blender are not compatible with the Pro 750 and cannot be used on it.
The Vitamix Food Processor attachment is not compatible with the Vitamix Pro 750 - the attachment only works with Smart System Blenders such as the Ascent Series and Venturist Series.
Comparisons
Hereโs how the Vitamix Pro 750 compares to three other machines that are often shortlisted with it when shopping around for blenders.
Vitamix Pro 750 vs Vitamix 7500
The Pro 750 and the 7500 have almost identical features. They are G-Series machines that weigh 12.5 pounds each and have a 2.2-peak horsepower motor.
And, they both have stainless steel blades that measure 4 inches across. Plus, they each come with the 64-ounce low-profile jar.
What sets them apart is functionality. They each have ten variable speeds and a pulse switch but the 7500 does not have the five preset functions that are found on the Pro 750. It is a completely manual blender and as such, is slightly cheaper.
If blender color is a selling point for you, it may be good to know that the Vitamix 7500 comes in black, red, and white compared to the Pro 750โs black and pearl gray options.
Vitamix Pro 750 vs Vitamix Ascent Series A3500
Just like the Pro 750, the A3500 is another of Vitamixโs best-of-the-best blender models. It costs the same as the 750 and has pretty much the same features.
What sets them apart is the A3500โs smart technology and touchscreen interface.
Unlike the 750, the A3500 has built-in wireless connectivity and a programmable timer. Plus, it is compatible with the Vitamix Food Processor Attachment which only works with Smart System Blenders.
The smart technology of the A3500 includes an app that lets you add custom programs to the blenderโs repertoire. It also gives you access to hundreds of recipes you can use with your blender.
As for colors, the 750 rocks black and pearl gray. The A3500 lets you choose from a brushed stainless metal finish; black stainless metal finish; copper metal finish; graphite metal finish; white; and candy apple red.
Vitamix Pro 750 - CLEAN UP
Cleaning the Pro 750 is a breeze- it has a preset cleaning function!!
Having to dismantle and wash a regular blender can become a REAL CHORE - especially if youโre like me, blending at least once a day. Plus, dismantling a blender puts you in danger of coming into contact with razor-sharp blades.
BUT, the Pro 750 is self-cleaning with no disassembly required. The jar and blades come as a single unit, permanently attached - you canโt take them apart.
To clean the 750, you just add warm water and ONE drop of dish soap then hit the CLEAN button. It revs up and down and stops according to its programming.
When it stops, you simply pour out the suds and give the jar a final, quick rinse. Give the lid and tamper a quick rinse, too, and ta-da, youโre done!
Believe me, the self-cleaning feature is one of the things Vitamix owners love most about their blenders.
Vitamix Pro 750 - WARRANTY
A new Vitamix Professional Series 750 blender comes with a free and full 7-year warranty. It covers all parts of the machine and their performance.
It also covers labor costs for any repairs AND two-way shipping at NO cost to you. Thatโs one of the best warranty offers youโll find for any brand of any blender anywhere.
The Pro 750 is a professional, commercial-grade blender but it is meant for personal, home use. That means the warranty wonโt cover it if it's used commercially or for non-household purposes.
Of course, the Pro 750โs warranty also doesnโt cover abuse or misuse of the blender. You are expected to use your 750 in accordance with its included instructions for operation and safety. Otherwise, the warranty will become void.
Within the warranty period, if your blender suffers from a material or workmanship defect or a defect from normal household use, then Vitamix will either replace it free of charge or refund your full purchase price. You choose which you prefer - beforehand and in writing. Sounds like a pretty solid warranty!
Risk-Free 60-Day In-Home Trial
The way Vitamix stands behind its products is perhaps what puts it head and shoulders above many other brands.
Its risk-free 60-day in-home trial helps to prove this. You can return your Vitamix Pro 750 within 60 days of purchase for a full refund - no questions asked. Vitamix will even pay for the return shipping.
After the thirty-day trial period, youโll have to pay the return shipping costs. Plus, after the free trial period ends, the company charges a restocking fee which increases according to how long you kept the machine before returning it.
Vitamix Pro 750 - FAQs
Here is a sample of questions new and prospective 750 owners often ask:
Can the 750 overheat?
Blending too long at too low speeds may lead to overheating. The 750 does, however, have an Overload Protection feature that switches off the blender if this happens.
Why is it better to blend at higher speeds?
Blending at high speeds maximizes the cooling functions of the motorโs fan and minimizes the risk of overheating.
Is there a right and wrong way to use the variable speed setting?
Always start at the stop symbol located at the top of the dial. Rotate the dial to Variable Speed 1 then press the Start/Stop switch. Rotate the dial to the desired speed.
Iโve aligned the jar as per the instructions but it still shifts slightly when the Start/Stop switch is pressed. Is that normal?
Yes, thatโs normal. Itโs just the jar self-adjusting to the properly aligned position.
The tamper doesnโt seem to be reaching all the ingredients. Is it okay to use a longer one?
No, never. If youโre holding the tamper straight down and are unable to get to some of the stuck ingredients, try angling it towards the sides - that should help.
A longer tamper may hit the blades which would be quite dangerous. It's part of the reason the included tamper has a splash disk. It helps to limit how far the tamper reaches down into the blender.
Is the 750 dishwasher safe?
No, the Pro 750 isnโt dishwasher safe but it is self-cleaning (I cover the super easy steps above).
Whatโs the best way to blend hot liquids in the 750?
If you are using the variable speeds, always start on Variable Speed 1 and increase the speed slowly from there. This helps to avoid splashing and potential scalds. Of course, also always have the lid and plug securely in place for all hot blends.
Is there a risk of overprocessing ingredients with this blender?
Yes, but thatโs true for all blenders. If you are new to professional-grade blenders like the 750, their speed and efficiency might surprise you. Until you become more accustomed to the machineโs capabilities, pay careful attention to the times you are processing ingredients for.
Iโm sure there are lots more questions youโd like to ask. The Blender Babes community and I would be happy to help, so go ahead and post your question in the comments section below.
Final Thoughts
Thanks to its remarkable features and design, the Vitamix Pro 750 would certainly trounce any ordinary blender in a matchup. It would most certainly also hold its own in a faceoff with other high-performance blenders.
Yes, the price may give you cause for pause - until that is, you put it to the test and realize itโs worth every penny!
Whether youโre in the market for your very first โrealโ blender or you already have an awesome blender and are looking to add another, or you need an upgrade, the Pro 750 is definitely one to consider.
