NATURAL STRAWBERRY FACE MASK RECIPE ~ FOR ALL SKIN TYPES
I am a sucker for a good Beatles’s song and known for letting my thoughts drift off on tangents.
Itโs no surprise then that after listening to โStrawberry Fields,โ I suddenly had the urge to snack on a certain berry.
It was this particular tangent that inspired me to create this strawberry face mask – a dual purpose recipe!
Sweets (even the natural kind) tend to make my skin break out, so I often avoid them.
Since I wasnโt able to curb the craving, I figured I might as well make something that would taste great and beautify at the same time; thus the invention of the dual strawberry face mask and sorbet!
This strawberry face mask recipe is not only delicious when frozen, but also a refreshing facial that will prevent future breakouts!
You must be wondering why youโd waste perfectly good strawberry sorbet on your face, but all the ingredients are incredibly effective in maintaining your skinโs healthy glow.
HEALTH BENEFITS OF THESE 3 SIMPLE INGREDIENTS
Strawberries are rich with salicylic acid which is commonly found in over the counter acne medications and cleansers.
It naturally encourages cellular turnover and sloughs away dead skin cells that can clog your pores and lead to acne breakouts.
Strawberries are also rich in vitamin C and low on the glycemic index which helps give your skin that healthy glow and prevents your blood sugar from spiking.
Maple syrup and honey are both fabulous moisturizers and antibacterial agents, so you will feel clean and nourished after this facial.
Finally, yogurt contains lactic acid and is a type of alpha hydroxy acid.
When used on your skin it acts like an exfoliant to reduce blemishes, scars, dark spots and many other skin issues that can cause you to look aged. It also stimulates collagen production so your skin will remain firm and youthful for years to come.

STRAWBERRY FACE MASK RECIPE
RECIPE: Strawberry Face Mask
SKIN TYPE: This natural face mask is safe for all skin types.
AUTHOR: Sabrina Taylor of BesSkinCare
YIELDS: 1-2 masks
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup of fresh strawberries (organic)
1 tablespoon maple syrup (vegan) OR organic honey (raw if possible)
1/2 cup unsweetened yogurt – I like coconut yogurt (vegan) OR Greek for its consistency.
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Add all ingredients to all ingredients to blender and blend on medium until smooth (for a power blender, about 20 seconds).
- For those with a regular blender: puree strawberries first – then add yogurt and honey and blend on high for 1 minute. Then follow To Eat & Facial instructions. ๐
- Separate your blend; half for your face and half to eat!
- All done! Enjoy!! Now take a photo, rate it, and share your accomplishments to enter our weekly photo contest! ๐ Be sure to tag @BlenderBabes & #BlenderBabes
To Eat as a Strawberry Sorbet: Pour into a sealed container and freeze for at least 1 hour, stirring occasionally. The finished product shouldnโt be frozen all the way through, rather a nice sorbet that is nutritious and delicious!
To use as Natural Strawberry Face Mask: smooth onto face and leave on face for 5 minutes (but no more than 10 minutes), then rinse off with lukewarm water, pat dry with a clean towel.
Moisturize as usual.
Call me crazy, but this may be the most versatile recipe Iโve come up with yet, just for Blender Babes!
